Missing in the "Erik" Fishing Boat Accident on July 3, 2011
An avid fisherman, Brian Wong started fishing as a young boy with his father, brothers, and family friends in the marina and local lakes. These frequent excursions fueled his passion for the sport. Every free opportunity was a chance to be filled with a fishing adventure. On every successful fishing excursion, he would beg us to take pictures of the latest catch and we would jokingly tease him that all fish look alike. Looking back at pictures, we realized that it wasn’t so much of an importance to capture the fish, but more so to capture the image of the fishermen.

He is very light hearted and people say that since birth, he has always moved to the beat of his own drum. Rumor has it that you could still find him eating breakfast as the morning school bell rang. In his youth (though he is still young at heart) he enjoyed photography, tennis and taking spur of the moment trips with family and friends.

Brian is a loving and warm spirited brother, husband, father, and friend. He is truly a family man and enjoys spending time with his brothers on the lake, with his wife working in the garden, and with his two daughters watching movies on Saturday nights. Brian also enjoys trying new restaurants with old friends and reminiscing about their rebel days.

Brian is filled with ambitious dreams of the future. He saved the more obscure ones for after retirement, as he was set to retire this August. Whether it was buying a sailboat and sailing around the world or becoming an Angel Island tour guide, his dreams had no boundaries. Brian we await your homecoming.

Sending our love your way,
Elsie, Monica and Tiffany
